In a startling incident in Port St. Lucie, Florida, a 15-year-old girl has been charged with felony criminal mischief after allegedly smashing a metal shovel into a police cruiser while the officer was still inside the vehicle.
According to authorities, the teen identified as Amy Chance struck the vehicle multiple times, causing damage amounting to over $1,200. The officer was responding to a disturbance at the teen’s residence when the confrontation unfolded.

Body-camera footage shows the teen standing in the middle of the street holding the shovel, swinging it at the hood of the patrol car. After repeatedly hitting the vehicle, the officer exited, drawn a Taser, and ordered her to drop the shovel. She complied, but then flipped off the officer and attempted to walk away before being detained.
Officials stressed that age does not exempt individuals from accountability when intentionally damaging property or threatening officers. The Port St. Lucie Police Department stated: “Regardless of age, resorting to intentional damage of people or property in our city will result in an arrest.”
The motive behind the attack remains under investigation. As the case progresses, the teen could face serious legal consequences given the nature of the offense and the involvement of law enforcement equipment.
