Brandy during Chicago concert with Monica, early exit due to dehydration.

R&B singer Brandy abruptly left the stage mid-performance at a Monica concert stop in Chicago on October 18, 2025. Her team later confirmed she was suffering from dehydration and fainting feelings, forcing her to exit the show for health reasons.

What Happened

During the Chicago stop of the “The Boy Is Mine Tour,” Brandy appeared to struggle with sound issues before telling the crowd, “Give me one second, y’all, I gotta get my…” and walking offstage.
She didn’t return for the remainder of the show, leaving Monica to finish solo. Importantly, their iconic duet “The Boy Is Mine” was not performed.

Brandy’s Statement & Recovery

In a statement shared on Instagram the next day, Brandy explained:

“After weeks of nonstop rehearsals, last night I experienced dehydration and feelings of wanting to faint … everyone involved agreed that prioritizing my well-being was of the utmost importance.”
She said she sought medical attention immediately following the show and is taking steps to recover properly before the next tour date in Indianapolis.

  • The Chicago show was early in the tour, which marks Brandy and Monica’s reunion after many years.
  • Fans and critics expressed confusion and frustration over the abrupt end of the concert and the missing hit duet. Some pointed to technical/sound problems, others to health concerns.
  • While the exit raised questions about planning and contingency for big shows, the official narrative remains centered on Brandy’s health and safety.
