Tina Brown recalls refusing Epstein dinner invite: “What the hell is this — the Predator’s Ball?”

Tina Brown, the veteran editor behind Vanity Fair and The Daily Beast, recently revealed her shock and disgust at being invited to a dinner party at Jeffrey Epstein’s home — after Epstein’s 2008 conviction. In her account, she yelled into the phone: “What the hell is this — the Predator’s Ball?” — refusing to attend.

Brown said the invitation came from a publicist, who told her the guest list included figures such as Prince Andrew, Woody Allen, and Charlie Rose, despite Brown’s own outlet having published critical reporting about Epstein.

She later connected the phrase “Predator’s Ball” to the 1988 book The Predators’ Ball, which examined greed on Wall Street — a pointed reference given Epstein’s status.

In the same interview, Brown reflected on her past interactions with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s convicted accomplice, saying she didn’t realize the full nature of their involvement until much later. She condemned Maxwell’s role, saying she believed Maxwell had “curated … his abuse of young women.”
