Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky offered public thanks to Donald Trump for continued U.S. support — notably the supply of Javelin missiles — even after Trump had criticized Ukraine for showing “zero gratitude.”
In a series of posts, Zelensky emphasized Ukraine’s appreciation for America’s backing, calling it vital to his country’s defense. He personally thanked Trump, noting that U.S. aid “saves Ukrainian lives.”

However, Zelensky also drew a clear line when it comes to a newly leaked 28‑point peace proposal reportedly backed by the White House. While acknowledging the importance of a peace deal, he declined to fully endorse the plan as it currently stands. According to Zelensky, the deal calls for significant concessions from Ukraine — such as ceding parts of the Donbas — while demanding relatively little from Russia.
He insisted that any settlement must preserve Ukraine’s “dignity” and guarantee protection against future Russian aggression. In his view, peace should not come at the expense of Ukraine’s sovereignty or freedom.

Zelensky’s stance reflects a delicate balancing act: he wants to maintain key U.S. relationships and military support, but not at the cost of compromising Ukraine’s long-term security.
